Anyone
reading the media hysteria about animal rights violence which is filling the
papers, the TV and radio news might well be confused by the content of this
website. Animal researchers and others involved in the exploitation of other
animals are screaming out for yet more laws to contain the animal liberation
movement, claiming to being subjected to terrible violence. The excessive
overuse of the words violence, extreme, terror and even “extreme violent
terrorism” to describe the sabotage of property is something to behold
for those versed on the workings of the average vivisection laboratory!
The reality is that a small number of activists consider the personal possessions
of these people to be fair game in the battle to end and expose complicity
in the widespread violence being inflicted on other animals and attack it
accordingly. These attacks amount in the main to pouring paint stripper over
cars and bursting their tyres and have proven successful in forcing the victims
to disengage from supporting the violent abuse of animals. It might not be
the proper way but it works.
Meanwhile those engaged in lawful protests are finding increasing police aggression,
banning orders and arbitrary arrests part and parcel of the day. Consequently
lawful protest is seen as increasingly ineffectual and indeed dangerous by
many protestors. In addition to this we have x million animals suffering terrible
cruelty behind closed doors in unregulated, unmonitored, unnecessary and repetitive
experiments that are hidden from public scrutiny and put the same at serious
risk. This is extreme violence by any definition yet the media and those in
government are complicit in calling for yet more legislation to deal with
those who cause and threaten damage to property – acts which are and
always have been illegal!
There is violence and there are a few very frustrated activists trying anything
non violent to expose and eliminate it. There is a real debate to be had about
violence but few journalists dare risk the wrath of the pharmaceutical giants
by instigating it. Until our society wakes up to the lies, distortion and
secrecy the issue of vivisection is riddled with there will be much more violence
inflicted on cars for some to cry about and the victims both human and none,
will continue to suffer real violence.
